About Richard
As a Financial Advice Professional, I owned and ran a successful financial advice practice in Launceston for over 40 years and have assisted hundreds of families to enjoy financial security today. I have also met with a diverse group of over 600 small local business owners, which has given me a unique understanding of our Tasmanian economy and the challenges we face.
Through my career, I have maintained a keen interest in the health and education sectors. I have worked with local doctors and served as a Founding Trustee and Board Member of the Clifford Craig Foundation. I have also served on the Launceston Church Grammar School Foundation Board and have mentored students during Australian Business Week in goal setting and business plan creation.
I have taken mentoring to small business and individuals to another level and now through Trethewie Training Group provide training built around improving productivity, goal setting and assisting individuals be the best versions of themselves by providing the tools to assist them to focus on what they can control, what is really important & gives them a sense of purpose/fulfilment so that they can get back in the drivers seat hands on the wheel and steer their life forward towards meaningful outcomes.
In my spare time
I grew up on a farm in the foothills of Ben Lomond and maintain a strong connection to rural Tasmania.
Together with my wife, Samantha and our family, I have made my home in northern Tasmania, where I have been an active contributor to the local community, including through membership of the Rotary Club of Central Launceston, where I have served as President, and was awarded as a ‘Paul Harris Fellow’ for outstanding community service. I have also been awarded Cityprom’s ‘Excellence Award for Management’.
Our happy place is the East Coast of Tasmania. We love nothing more than strolling along pristine beaches, soaking in the sea air and enjoying the slower pace of life to recharge and reconnect.
I’m also an avid LEGO builder, and have spent countless relaxing hours creating.
